Environmental Commission

The 2001 Project Photo Tour

The Environmental Commission is comprised of a group of volunteers from our community who volunteer their time to help preserve and protect the quality of our environment. Each year the Environmental Commission selects a special project to focus on which will enhance Oakland.

This year the Commission chose to establish a one-mile walking path along the Ramapo River. Please enjoy these “before” pictures and stay tuned for the “after” pictures. The path the Environmental Commission will be establishing will make it easier for residents to enjoy and experience the beauty of the Ramapo River.

Funding for this project is from a grant written and awarded to the Oakland Environmental Commission from the State of New Jersey.

The walking path will make it easier for residents to appreciate and access the Ramapo River.
