Oakland Recreation Refund Policy

"Refund Policy - Oakland Sports are divided into Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer sports.

Those that sign-up for an Oakland Recreation sport/activity, but decide against participation, are entitled to a refund. In order for the borough of Oakland to process of refund they require 2 things:

  1. The request in writing and delivered by the dates posted below. A written request for a refund may be in mail, email, or hand delivered form. One letter is to be sent to the Commissioner of the sport and a copy sent to the Recreation Chairman.
  2. A copy of the cancelled check.

Once all these things are handed over to the borough there is a 45 day period for reimbursement.

Because of the self-funding nature of Oakland Travel Tryout Sports there will be no refunds offered for those sports.

  • Refunds for Fall Sports - Request must be delivered to Commissioner by September 15th.
  • Refunds for Winter Sports - Request must be delivered to Commissioner by December 15th.
  • Refunds for Spring Sports - Request must be delivered to Commissioner by May 1st.
  • Refunds for Summer Sports - Request must be delivered to Commissioner by July 15th.

Any request made after the dates posted above will be denied for refunds."
