Many interesting
and informative activities are being planned for the coming Society
year. In each month the Van Allen House is open for tours and
events usually on the third Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Our Society
Quilters meet on the first and third Thursday.
The traditional
Dutch Christmas celebrates this area's Dutch devotion to St.
Nicholas. Come to meet our Sinterklaus at the House in December.
Certainly we
must celebrate the birthday of George Washington since he really did
stay at our Dutch farmhouse July of 1777. Authentic copies of his
letter to the Second Continental Congress and Orders of the Day
written from the " Van Aulen" homestead can be purchased from the
society.
