As we begin the joyous holiday season, mark your calendars for the many activities planned in Oakland:

On December 4, 2022 at 5:00 p.m., I invite you to join us at our annual Christmas Tree and Chanukah Menorah Lighting Event in Veteran's Park with Oakland's first vehicular parade of lights, followed by the festivities and refreshments inside Valley Middle School where Santa will meet and greet everyone.

All thanks to the volunteer members of Oakland Public Events Committee who have been working hard planning this event.

Throughout our town on Saturday, December 17, 2022, the members of our Oakland Volunteer Fire Department shall be driving Santa visiting our neighborhoods.

On Sunday, December 18, 2022, members of Oakland's Access For All Committee planned a special treat for our special residents at the Danny D'Elia Building, 24 Lawlor Drive.

Don't forget Oakland's annual home holiday lights contest. Judging will take place from December 19, 2022 to December 20, 2022.

Happy Holidays and a Happy and Healthy New Year.
