Coronavirus Update 4/14/2020

Coronavirus Positive Tests in Oakland:

Today the Borough of Oakland was notified by the Bergen County Health Department that there are a total of 134 individuals in Oakland who tested positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The Bergen County Health Department is no longer providing towns with patient details such as gender and age so we are not able to provide that information to the community.

Internet & Phone Service:

Governor Phil Murphy signed Executive Order 126 which prohibits cable and telecom providers from terminating residential Internet and voice service during the crisis due to non-payment. Additionally, those providers must reconnect (at the request of the customer) any residential service disconnected after March 16th for nonpayment. Click here for more information.

Insurance Grace Period:

Governor Phil Murphy signed Executive Order 123 which extends the grace period for residents who can't pay their health or dental insurance premiums by 60 days. Home and auto insurance, renters insurance, life insurance, insurance premium financing arrangements and others will have a 90-day grace period.

Income and Corporate Tax Filing Deadline:

Governor Phil Murphy today announced his intention to sign into law a bill extending New Jersey’s income and corporate tax filing deadline to July 15. The bill received final passage in the Legislature yesterday and will be signed by the Governor.
