Coronavirus Update 4-23-2020

Coronavirus Positive Tests in Oakland:

Today the Borough of Oakland was notified by the Bergen County Health Department that there are a total of 181 individuals in Oakland who tested positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Bergen County has a total of 13,602 positive Coronavirus Cases, and the State of NJ has 99,989 positive cases. The Bergen County Health Department is no longer providing towns with patient details such as gender and age so we are not able to provide that information to the community.

As the Oakland Public Library remains closed during this difficult time, we would just like to remind all of our residents that your digital library is open 24/7. Library card holders can access and download eBooks, digital audiobooks, TV shows, movies, graphic novels, and more all from wherever they have an internet connection through Libby, Hoopla, Kanopy & RB Digital. In addition, anyone looking to learn new skills or brush up on anything can log into LyndaPro for free and get professional instruction. We can't wait to reopen, and as soon as we know when we'll be letting all of our patrons know. Don't have a library card but would like to borrow econtent? Not a problem. NJEDA Entrepreneur Support Program:

NJ Entrepreneur Support Program – The New Jersey Entrepreneur Support Program is a $5 million program that will create a guarantee to support repayment of an investor loan advanced for working capital purposes and is designed to encourage investors to support businesses within their portfolios. Additional eligibility requirements for both investors and entrepreneurs can be found at http://cv.business.nj.gov.

The dashboard has been updated to provide more information on scope of the virus and hospitalizations, including the number of patients hospitalized, discharged, in critical care, in intensive care, and on ventilators, along with data on statewide ventilator capacity, numbers of positive/negative tests, and more.
  • New Jersey’s COVID-19 Information Hub includes valuable resources and information for families, workers, and employers who have questions or needs arising from the current crisis.
