Coronavirus Update 5-27-2020

Coronavirus Positive Tests in Oakland:

Today the Borough of Oakland was notified by the Bergen County Health Department that there are a total of 225 individuals in Oakland who tested positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Bergen County has a total of 18,005 positive Coronavirus Cases, and the State of NJ has 156,628 positive cases.

Reminder...2nd Quarter Tax Grace Period Due June 1, 2020:

The grace period for payment of 2nd quarter taxes ends on June 1st.  To avoid penalties retroactive to May 1st, payment MUST be received by the Tax Department by 4:30pm on June 1st.  USPS mail delivered on or before June 1st will be marked received on the date delivered, post marked does not indicate receipt.  Any payments deposited in the drop box at Borough Hall will be collected at 4:30pm on the 1st and marked received as well.

Virtual Borough Council Meeting Tonight:

There will be a Virtual Borough Council Meeting Wednesday May 27, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. on ZOOM. If you are a member of the public and wish to comment or provide public input, please email AssistAdmin@Oakland-NJ.org to receive the ZOOM meeting link, otherwise the meeting will be broadcast live on Oakland TV Channel 77 and FiOS 45, and on the Borough’s YouTube Channel.

This Week in Oakland Episode 6 will premiere tonight at 6:30 p.m. on Oakland TV Channel 77 and FiOS 45. The Episode will also be posted to the Borough’s YouTube Page. The Oakland Communications Commission and Oakland TV Committee have been putting their extra time to good use and are excited to continue to air This Week in Oakland – a helpful, informative, and interesting program made in Oakland, by and for Oaklanders. Segments over the next few episodes will span from art, to cooking, to nature, interviews, to pet care, and many other things in between!
