Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update 7/10/2020

From Mayor Linda H. Schwager
Coronavirus Update 7-10-2020

Traffic Advisory:

Please be advised that the scheduled restriping of the painted lines on Ramapo Valley Road between Franklin Avenue and Long Hill Road on Friday, July 10, 2020 and Saturday, July 11, 2020 has now been postponed due to inclement weather. This work will now be performed between 8 am and 4pm on Monday, July 13th and between 12pm and 4pm on Tuesday, July 14th. Expect minor delays during these times as the work requires the crews to be in the roadway. Police officers will be on scene to direct traffic. This work is dependent upon nice weather. If the contractor cancels the work due to inclement weather, an updated message will be posted advising of the new dates.

Governor Orders Masks Worn Outdoors:

Despite the fact that hospitalizations and deaths from COVID-19 continue to drop, the governor signed an executive order yesterday which requires individuals to wear face coverings in outdoor public spaces when it is not practicable to socially distance and keep a six-foot distance from others, excluding immediate family members, caretakers, household members, or romantic partners, except where doing so would inhibit that individual’s health, where the individual is under two years of age, or in situations where individuals cannot feasibly wear a face covering, such as when eating or drinking at outdoor dining areas.

Quarantine Advisory Grows to 19 States for Travelers to NJ:

An updated quarantine advisory has been issued for travelers to New Jersey from an additional three states with significant community spread of COVID-19. The travel advisory applies to any person arriving from a state with a positive test rate higher than 10 per 100,000 residents or a state with a 10% or higher positivity rate over a 7-day rolling average. There are currently 19 states total that meet the criteria stated above: Alabama; Arkansas; Arizona; California; Delaware, Florida; Georgia; Iowa; Idaho; Kansas; Louisiana; Oklahoma, Mississippi; North Carolina; Nevada; South Carolina; Tennessee; Texas; and Utah.

Outdoor Gathering Capacity Limits Increased:

As of last Friday, outdoor gatherings limits have increased to 500 persons. Outdoor religious services and political activities will continue to have no numerical limits.
