Deadline to respond to the 2020 Census is September 30th:

The Borough of Oakland would like to inform and implore you to be sure that you respond to the 2020 Census. It is important to the Borough as a whole that the 2020 Census Form be filled out and returned so you can be properly counted.

How to respond to the 2020 Census:

  • By Phone: 1-(844) 330-2020
  • Online: www.My2020Census.gov
  • Mail in hard copy questionnaire sent to your home

As you likely already know, the federal government is constitutionally required to perform a census every decade to get an accurate picture of the total number of residents in the country, where they reside, and how the government should allocate resources and representatives to properly reflect the current state of the country. Ensuring that Oakland is accurately counted is important to ensure we receive the proper attention from the federal government to go towards vital programs and services in our community. An inaccurate response would likely mean the loss of federal dollars to our Borough, leading to the likelihood that grants will be reduced or eliminated which otherwise would offset the need to raise taxes to fund improvements for the Borough.

Please be sure to respond the Census before September 30, 2020 as Census workers will be done counting by that time.
