Road Work Scheduled for Franklin Avenue for September 20, 2022 through September 21, 2022

Closed Between Iron Latch Road and Commerce Street

Traffic Notice

Please be advised that Franklin Avenue will be having a Sewer line installed from the Franklin Crossing Shopping Center (Stop and Shop) to Lakeside Blvd. Construction will be on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 until approximately September 21, 2022. Franklin Avenue will be shut down between Iron Latch Road and Commerce Street, this portion of roadway will be closed to all traffic from approximately 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Businesses will be open and accessible. Access to these businesses and residential side streets will depend on the location of the construction work for that particular day.
 
Traffic traveling East on Franklin Avenue (from Oakland towards Franklin Lakes) must use the posted detour:
 
Franklin Ave (in Oakland):

  • Turn onto Route 202
  • Turn onto Yawpo Avenue
  • Turn onto to McCoy Rd to Colonial Road

Franklin Ave (in Oakland):

  • Turn onto Route 202
  • Turn onto West Oakland Ave
  • Turn onto Interstate 287 North to Exit 59 into Franklin Lakes.

Traffic traveling West (from Franklin Lakes towards Oakland) on Franklin Avenue will need to follow the posted detour:

  • Franklin Ave (in Franklin Lakes)
  • Left onto Colonial Road
  • Left onto Rt. 208 North
  • Interstate 287 South to Exit 58 in Oakland.

There will be Police Officers at both sides of the detour to assist motorists in accessing businesses and residential areas from the appropriate sides each day.
 
Expect major delays and Plan Alternate Routes.
