Mayor & Council

The Governing Body consists of the Mayor, who is elected for a four-year term, and six (6) Councilmembers who are elected for three-year terms.  The Mayor is considered the CEO and only votes in the case of a tie.  The Council considers and sets policies to govern the Borough of Oakland in accordance with statutory authority.  They are responsible for adopting the budget and enacting ordinances to regulate the affairs of the municipality.

Borough Council meetings are typically held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month.
