Oakland Mobile COVID-19 Testing:

COVID-19 testing continues at the Oakland Senior Citizens Center Parking Lot on Monday & Wednesday from 10:00 to 6:00 pm; and Saturday & Sunday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. To register for an appointment go to test.oaklandnj.online, or go to link found on our borough website at www.oakland-nj.org, then drive to the Senior Center in your vehicle, remain in your vehicle wearing a mask, and the attendee will come to you. 

COVID-19 Vaccination Information:

Oakland’s newest program, Vaccination Assistance Program, is very successful. Our senior citizen director, Arielle, is assisting our senior citizens, who are 75 years old, with scheduling an appointment for the vaccine.  To register call (201) 405-7731 or email Arielle at seniors@oakland.nj.org.  If you would like to volunteer, call Arielle.

Senior Transportation:  

The Oakland Senior Center will assist with coordinating transportation for home-bound seniors needing assistance to and from the vaccination appointments.  In addition, Bergen County has partnered with Uber and Lyft for rides to and from vaccination appointments.  The program is called Ryde4Life. Call (201) 368-5955 at least 24 hours in advance and provide your first and last name, address, cellphone #, pickup address, pickup time, and destination address.

I have been receiving calls daily asking why we cannot get the vaccine in Oakland.  Problem is we do not have our own Department of Health and do not have the necessary requirements.  We are under the supervision of the Bergen County Health Department. 

Scams:

If someone calls you suggesting that if you pay them money, they will get you an appointment for the vaccine. DON’T BELIEVE THE STRANGER….don’t give any personal information and call the police immediately.  IT IS A SCAM. Not only are they stealing your money, but they are also stealing your personal information, too.
