The NJ State League of Municipalities announced its annual scholarship competition:
The competition is open to all high school juniors and seniors and requires a 500 word essay. Fifteen finalists and 3 winners shall be selected. The prizes range are up to $1,000. This year's theme is.............
"What my Municipal Government does best."

Throughout the school year I receive announcements about students residing in Oakland who attend private high schools. I recently received a letter from Academy of Holy Angels in Demarest announcing that Oakland resident, ALEXANDRA VALDEZ, was chosen to represent the school at the 67th United Nations Commission on the Status of Women to be held at the UN Headquarters in NYC from March 6-17, 2023. This years theme is innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls.
