Mayor's Message - March 2023

I am excited to announce that once again we will have a local chamber of commerce in Oakland called the Oakland Chamber Chamber of Commerce. Thank you to Lindsey Smith for taking the position of president.  It has always been  my position that we should have a partnership between the residents and the business community to work together.

On Monday morning, Feb. 27, 2023 I sponsored a breakfast at the Oakland Senior Citizens Center to talk about the future of our downtown and the plans we have to revitalize the designated area. I also spoke about the planning of the the park known as Bush Plaza on Ramapo Valley Road opposite Yawpo Avenue. 

In the coming weeks, you will be hearing a lot about the plans for the beautification of downtown known as "streetscape" and the future Oakland Historical Preservation Commission.
