Mayor's Message- September 2023

It is difficult to believe that summer has come to an end and a new school year is about to begin.  Please drive carefully. Children will be walking. Adults will be walking. Remember that pedestrians have the right of way. Don’t forget to stop at the crosswalk when a pedestrian is attempting to cross the roadway.

School busses will be stopping  to pick up children and dropping off children at the end of the school day.  As soon as their lights go on, STOP, for the safety of our children.

Roads:  Hopefully, weather permitting, by the time you read this message the 2023 road resurfacing projects are completed.   The critical issue being that the resurfacing had to be completed before school begins!  My loud voice was heard and followed.

Please note that there are a few exceptions to completed road resurfacing.

1.            Lakeside Blvd. Sewer lines are in but it was decided that before we resurface the road, while still broken up, replace the necessary water pipes.  The Borough anticipates that ALL work will be completed soon and Lakeside will be resurfaced in the fall.

2.            Roads affected by work done by PSE&G. PSE&G will inform the Borough as to when their work is completed on a road and outline  their resurfacing schedule.

Enjoy the remaining days of summer.  State safe and stay healthy.

Linda
