TRAFFIC ADVISORY – PAVING OF RAMAPO VALLEY ROAD AND BREAKNECK ROAD

Dear Residents,

Bergen County will be paving the remainder of Ramapo Valley Road and Breakneck Road starting next week, between the hours of 7am and 4pm.  This work is necessary to maintain our transportation infrastructure for the safety and convenience of all.

Schedule and Affected Areas:

April 8th and 9th: Milling on Breakneck Road, which will be closed to through traffic from Longhill to the Wayne Border. Local Traffic only.  We advise residents and commuters to plan alternate routes.  The designated detour route will use Indian Road in Wayne. 

April 10th, 11th, and 12th: Milling on Ramapo Valley Road. Local Traffic Only.  Northbound through traffic will be diverted at Franklin  Ave.  Southbound through traffic will be diverted at Darlington Ave. in Mahwah.  Detour signage has been established and posted by the contractor to facilitate the flow of traffic. Please note the specific areas affected for local traffic:

April 10th: From the Mahwah border to Patriots Way.

April 11th: From Patriots Way to 688 Ramapo Valley Road (between Pawnee and Minnehaha)

April 12th: From 688 Ramapo Valley Road to the Delta gas station (592 Ramapo Valley Road).

April 15th: Paving on Breakneck Road, from Longhill to the Wayne Border. Similar to the milling phase, through traffic will not be allowed.

April 16th: Paving on Ramapo Valley Road  from the Mahwah border, continuing south until Minnehaha Boulevard. Residents should anticipate impacts on local traffic flow.

April 17th: Paving on Ramapo Valley Road from Minnehaha Boulevard, concluding at the Delta gas station.

Important Reminders:

Local Traffic Only: Access will be granted to residents needing to reach their homes within the affected areas. All other motorists are required to follow the posted detour routes.

School Bus Routes: There will be no alterations to school bus routes during the project, ensuring uninterrupted access to education for our students.

We understand that this project may present inconveniences and we are committed to minimizing disruptions as much as possible. The Borough appreciates your patience and cooperation as we work with Bergen County to improve our roadways for the benefit of the community.
