Veterans Recognition Program

The Borough of Oakland is pleased to announce the Hometown Hero Veterans Recognition Program, which will honor your Oakland Veteran with a Social Media and Digital Sign Graphic, as well as a feature on the Borough website. 

Eligibility:

To be eligible, you must live in Oakland and be honorably discharged.  Submissions must include a DD-214 form, separation papers, or proof of veteran organization membership. Applications may be submitted with an original photo via email to boroclerk@oakland-nj.org, or mailed with a hard copy photo with a return prepaid envelope. Scanned photos must be in JPEG format and the highest resolution possible. Digital Sign Graphics will run for seven days total, in the order that we receive applications, and social media graphics will be posted to the Borough’s social media channels. Participants will be notified when your graphic will be posted.
