Permitting Notes - Additions

Provide the following documentation to the Construction Department:

  1. Two (2) copies of the property survey showing the location of the proposed addition (dimensions to scale). Indicate measurement from the closest points of setbacks.
  2. Two (2) complete sets of plans showing the following:

    a. Elevation drawings
    b. Cross section
    c. Floor plan
    d. Foundation plan
    e. Plumbing riser diagram
    f. Electric plan

    ALL PLANS MUST INCLUDE ACCURATE MELASUREMENTS, EXISTING AND PROPOSED CONDITIONS AND DEMENSIONAL LUMBER TO BE USED WITH SPANS AND LOAD POINTS INDICATED
     
  3. Completed folder and subcode technical forms (may include building/fire/electric/plumbing subcode/ co form and jacket. Permit applications may be obtained from this office.
  4. Engineering approval required for all new building and some additions.
  5. Health approval required when septic and/or well is involved.
  6. New Jersey Energy Code Compliance sheet.
  7. Highlands exemption or approvals if necessary.
  8. Proof of home builders registration from NJ Consumer Affairs for alterations and additions. Contact: 1-888-656-6225
  9. Home Warranty registration for any new residential builders of new residential buildings. For more information:  NJ DCA - New Home Warranties
  10. All cover sheet on drawings must include codes used to draft drawings.
