Borough of Oakland Announces Several Road Closures

The Borough of Oakland has announced several road work updates for the coming week:

• Ramapo Valley Road at the intersections of Yawpo Avenue and West Oakland Avenue will be closed starting on or about Tuesday July 18, 2023 through Wednesday July 19, 2023, with a start time of approximately 7:00 a.m. Both one northbound and one southbound lane will be open for through traffic. Yawpo Avenue will be closed in both directions between Ramapo Valley Road and Raritan Road. Please expect traffic backup and avoid the area if possible.
• River Road from West Oakland Avenue to Spring Street will be closed from July 17, 2023 to July 21, 2023 between the hours of 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Residents are encouraged to use alternate routes.
• Handicap ADA ramps are being installed along Ramapo Valley Road on or about July 19, 2023 through July 21, 2023, starting at Long Hill Road and progressing northward. Minimal disruption is expected along Ramapo Valley Road, however, side roads may be impacted.
• PSE&G will be performing tie-ins on Hiawatha Boulevard from Monday July 17, 2023 through Friday July 21, 2023 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Local traffic should only be slightly impacted. 
• PSE&G will be installing gas mains on Park Avenue on Monday July 17, 2023 through Friday July 21, 2023 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Local traffic should only be slightly impacted.
