Borough of Oakland Begins Tree Inventory Project

The Borough of Oakland is undertaking a Borough-wide Tree Inventory Project.  Starting on or about June 1, 2022,  State Licensed Tree Experts from JP Arbor Consulting will conduct the inventory of trees along the Borough's right-of-way areas (generally 10 feet from curb line).  Surveyors will be inspecting and taking photographs of each tree.  Inspections will take place Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.  Should a right-of-way tree be behind a fence line,  the surveyor may have to access residential properties.  If the homeowner is not present,  the surveyor will leave a card specifying a return date to do the inspection.  Surveyors will not be inspecting trees past the 10 foot area or in residential backyards.  JP Arbor Consulting Representatives will carry photo identification and their names are on file and registered with the Oakland Police Department and Borough Clerk's Office.  Should residents have any questions or concerns,  please call the Oakland Department of Public Works at (201) 337-8111, ext. 3002.
