County of Bergen to Treat Oakland for Mosquitos on August 1st

Oakland, N.J. – July 29, 2022 – The County of Bergen will be performing Mosquito Spraying in the Borough of Oakland on Monday August 1, 2022 between the hours of 3:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. The spray area is approximately bound by Yawpo Avenue, McCoy Road, McNomee Street, and East Oak Street. Residents are encouraged to keep windows and doors closed,  move pets and their food and water bowls inside, and avoid direct contact with any wet surfaces.  The County will be using Sumithrin/Prallethrin (Duet®) to treat the area.  Spray areas are safe to reenter after one (1) hour has passed.  For more information, please contact Bergen County Mosquito Control at (201) 634-2880, Bergen County Department of Health Services at (201) 634-2600), or call the National Pesticide Information Center at (800) 858-7378, or visit their website at http://npic.orst.edu.
