In addition, the Governor’s order requires the following:

  • Each municipality will be required to open at least one in-person polling site - Oakland's will be Valley Middle School;
  • Any voter who chooses to cast their vote in-person will do so on a paper provisional ballot;
  • All individuals with visual disabilities will have access to an ADA-conforming voting machine.
  • If you choose to go to the polls you will receive a provisional paper ballot. No voting machines will be used in this election. Accommodations will be made for voters with disabilities.

A provisional paper ballot are ballots that are only counted once all mail-in-ballots have been counted, as they must be looked at individually to ensure that you are a registered voter and have not yet voted by a vote-by-mail ballot. We encourage all those that wish to vote by provisional ballot to do so only if you did not receive your vote-by-mail ballot in the mail, or it was destroyed, thrown away, soiled, etc. Voting by provisional ballot makes the counting process longer.
