Orange and Rockland Utilities: Do You Use Life Support Equipment?

Now Is the Time to Enroll or Re-Certify Life-Support Equipment Use
Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc.

Pearl River, N.Y. - July 11, 2023 - Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. (O&R) asks customers who use life-support equipment or know someone in the O&R service area who does, to enroll in the company’s Life-Support Equipment (LSE) program.

O&R provides LSE program participants special considerations. Those include providing them with preparedness tips, alerts to potential outages, and wellness checks should they experience an outage. The program covers both O&R customers in New York and customers of O&R’s affiliate Rockland Electric Company in New Jersey.

“Losing power for most people is inconvenient, but for those who rely on life-sustaining equipment, it can be life threatening,” said O&R’s Lynette Santiago, the program’s manager.

O&R has launched an extensive outreach campaign to build awareness about its LSE program with customers, current LSE participants and community organizations. The company includes information about how to enroll in the program in bill inserts, emails, social media and advertising.

“If O&R provides the electricity that powers your home, let us know if someone is using an oxygen concentrator, a respirator, or other medical equipment that supports their life,” continued Santiago. “By enrolling in the LSE program, we can provide alerts, updates, check-ins and tips to help prepare in the event of extreme weather or outages.”

LSE program enrollment information is conveniently located on O&R’s website: Life-Support Equipment Assistance | Orange & Rockland (oru.com), or by calling O&R at 1-877-434-4100.
