Road Work: Ramapo Valley Road at West Oakland Avenue Intersection

Bergen County NJ

Please be advised that the Borough of Oakland will soon begin to install sewer main along Ramapo Valley Road as part of the Sewer Plant Decommissioning Project and this will likely affect traffic in the downtown area.  This project will start at the intersection of Ramapo Valley Rd & West Oakland Ave, and run northbound to Franklin Ave.  The work will continue up Franklin Ave until it links up with the preexisting sewer line in Franklin Lakes.  There will be bi-directional traffic, but expect it to be hampered by the construction.  This initiative is scheduled to start Monday June 20th with “test holes” being dug by the contractor, Pacific Construction.  After that concludes, a determination will be made for the official kickoff date of the work.  Roadwork will be Monday to Friday, with the actual hours still to be determined as evening hours may be included in the business area to ease congestion and maximize efficiency.  The project is anticipated to be lengthy, however officers will be on scene daily to assist and direct traffic.  Please be prepared to possibly use alternate routes during this time. As always, the Borough will look to keep the motoring public updated in a timely fashion via our social media platforms.
