UPDATE !! The Borough of Oakland, NJ has received a 60 day extension for public comments and petition signing. The new deadline is December 28, 2023. The Mayor and Council thank all the residents that have submitted comments and signed the petition so far.

PETITION OPPOSING OAKLAND MATERIALS, LLC

Official Borough of Oakland Petition opposing Oakland Materials, LLC is seeking to operate a 'Class B' recycling facility at 342 West Oakland Avenue, a short distance from homes, Potash Lake and the Ramapo River. This facility would process up to 900 tons of concrete, brick, asphalt and topsoil per day. We, the undersigned, oppose Oakland Materials, LLC's application to the BCUA because of quality of life impacts such as noise, dust, odors and truck traffic as well as potential pollution, including groundwater contamination of a sole source aquifer that provides drinking water to Oakland residents. The time to act is now! Please click link, sign the petition and have your voice heard.
