Road Work Update on Franklin Avenue

Traffic Notice

Please be advised that the Borough of Oakland’s Sewer Plant Decommissioning Project will be back on Franklin Ave tomorrow, Wednesday November 9th with different  road closures during the day between Ramapo Valley Rd and Purdue Ave.  The hours of operation will be 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  From 7:00 a.m. to approximately 9:00 a.m., traffic from Ramapo Valley Rd will be able to turn onto Franklin Ave and then turn onto Hiawatha Blvd to travel around the work zone.  At approximately 9:00 a.m., there will then be a hard closure at Ramapo Valley Rd/Franklin Ave.  All traffic proceeding down Franklin Ave will be directed onto Purdue Ave.  Detour signage will be posted and police officers will be on site to assist with traffic.  This portion of the project will immediately proceed onto Ramapo Valley Rd as they progress and then head south towards the downtown business district.   This will affect traffic in the downtown area so please expect delays and be prepared to possibly use alternate routes during this time.  As always, the Borough will look to keep the motoring public updated in a timely fashion via our social media platforms.
