Sustainable Oakland Green Team Presents: Crayon Recycling

The Sustainable Oakland Green Team is collecting used and broken crayons and markers for our recycling program.

We will be sending the Markers to Crayola ColorCycle program. Through this initiative, students across the continental United States and parts of Canada can collect and re-purpose used markers and reduce waste in our community. 

We will be sending the crayons to The Crayon Initiative. This program collects unwanted crayons, melts them down and reproduces new crayons from the donations. These newly minted crayons

are then distributed to art programs at Children's Hospitals across the United States; bringing art and smiles to the young patients in need.

Please bring any of your old and used crayons and markers to the locations listed on the attached flyer.
