Police Chief Keith Sanzari Provides Holiday Update

Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over

The Oakland Police Department would again like to remind all residents to take the necessary measures to protect their vehicles and the property within it while they are parked overnight in your driveways. Despite officers aggressively patrolling and monitoring the residential areas and their recent success in identifying, arresting and charging some of the recent offenders, vehicle burglaries continue to be a common problem throughout Bergen County. Lock your car, take your keys or key fobs into your home, remove your valuables from your vehicle or store them out of sight. Maintain your vigilance and report any suspicious activity to the Oakland Police Department at (201) 337-6171.

With the holiday season beginning this month, please remember that all police department’s will be out in full force in order to keep motorists safe. Remember to drink responsibly and drive safe or don’t drive at all.
