Reminder: Short-Term Rentals are Prohibited
As New Jersey prepares for an influx of global visitors for the FIFA World Cup, property owners are reminded that Short Term Rentals for a period of 30 days or less are prohibited in the Borough of Oakland.
The first World Cup game at MetLife Stadium is scheduled for June 13. With people coming from around the globe to attend games and watch parties for the World Cup, the Borough is mindful of the safety and security of our residents, as well as everyone’s right to quiet enjoyment of their own property. Thus, we wish to remind everyone that short-term rentals of 30 days or less, as well as the advertising of such rentals, are not permitted within the Borough and violators face fines of up to $1,250 per day. Residents should contact Code Enforcement at fireassistant@oakland-nj.org if they wish to file a complaint.
