January
- Entire month - logo contest open to Oakland's residents between the ages of 5 and 18
February 2026
- 5th - Last day for students to submit artwork for the logo contest
- 15th - Celebrate George Washington's Birthday at the Van Allen House - NJ Heard's Brigade Reenactment
March
April
- 2nd - Opening day of the Verse & Visual - Celebrating Poetry Month and the Studio Arts. Exhibit will run through May 17th.
- 25th - Bergen County History Day and Van Allen House Open House / America 250 Tree Dedication - 10:00am to 4:00pm
- 26th - Lecture at the Library: General Robert Erskine: Minemaster and Mapmaker of the American Revolution - 1:30pm
May
- 17th - Last day of the Verse & Visual Exhibit
- 17th - OHS Brides and Mothers Event at the Van Allen House
- 17th - Oakland Public Library Concert - Violinist David Podle - Sunday, May 17th at 2:00pm. Registration required. Free admission.
- 24th - America 250 Memorial Day Parade - 1:00pm
- 31st - Lecture Series: The Complete American Revolution: Part 3—After the Revolutionary War (1783–1812)
June
July
- 2nd - Senior Center birthday party for America
- 4th - Oakland Historical Society open house at the Van Allen House - 1:00pm - 4:00pm
- 12th - Van Allen House - Declaration and New Jersey Event from 1:00pm - 4:00pm
- 16th - Senior Center lecture on the Declaration of Independence, 2:00pm.
