Girls’ volleyball is making a comeback at Indian Hills High School (IHHS)— and the community is invited to be part of it.

The Indian Hills girls’ volleyball program is hosting the inaugural Rising Braves Volleyball Camp from July 27 through July 30 at Indian Hills High School. The camp runs from 9   a.m. to 12  p.m. each day and is open to incoming seventh, eighth and ninth grade girls from all local towns. Registration is $175 and includes a camp T-shirt. Sign up through the Oakland Recreation website at www.OaklandRec.org.

Indian Hills High School’s Upcoming Girls Volleyball Summer Camp

This is the first camp the program has offered in several years, at least since before the 2020 pandemic, and it marks a fresh chapter for Indian Hills volleyball. Coach Robert Dolce, in his second year as head coach at Indian Hills, is leading the effort to revitalize the program.

"We want to expose the girls to more than just volleyball," said Dolce. "I always teach life lessons throughout, get to know the girls so they feel comfortable — and if they want to come here in the future, that's the goal."

Whether someone is new to the court or looking to sharpen her skills, the camp provides a comprehensive introduction to the game. The camp will cover fundamental skills including serving, passing, setting, and hitting, alongside teamwork, communication, leadership, and sportsmanship. Campers will also get a tour of the school campus, giving younger players a chance to see Indian Hills up close. The camp is structured as a community effort. Current players and recent graduates will volunteer as coaches throughout the week.
