Special Needs Basketball Registration Now Open for the  2025-2026 Basketball Season!

Register at www.Oaklandrec.org. 

We will begin our 2025-26 season of CoEd Special Needs Basketball on Sunday January 5th at 10am (note start time).  Our games will be held most Sundays from January 5th through March 16th, 2025.  We will try to have sessions as many Sundays as possible, however there are some situations where the court may not be available.

To ensure the safety and care of all players, we ask that a responsible adult remains at the gym throughout the session, we cannot allow drop offs. We hope you understand.  

Sessions will consist of:

• Calisthenics ~10 minutes
• Basketball Drills ~15 minutes
• Hydration Breaks, Split into Teams ~5 minutes
• Live Scrimmages, play ~30 minutes

The gym can be separated into two courts, allowing us to separate the players by age. We lower baskets for younger players ensuring everyone can be successful.  The entrance to the gym is on the ground floor and is accessible.

Time: 10am – 11am.  Gym is available 9:30-11:30 if you want to come early and shoot around.  

Dates:

Jan 11, 18, 25 … 3 sessions 

Feb 1, 8, 15 … 3 sessions  

Mar 1, 8, 15 … 3 sessions

The cost for the season is $10.00 for all players; registration is through the Borough of Oakland Website.  Please ensure your registration and payment are completed in advance of opening day.  Please reach out with any questions.

Our program cannot run without volunteers!  Please let us know if you have recommendations of any high school or college students in the area who would like to volunteer.  It is a rewarding experience and great for college applications!
